Over the last month or so, I received a couple of emails from two different seo experts/gurus, and they claim the power of Web20 no longer works.... After all, you are pretty much spamming Web20 pages with spun/junk content hoping the page gains authority, and passes that authority on, so I was not surprised to hear them say that Web 2.0 is useless and does not work anymore... One of these seo experts stopped offering web20 services some time back, and when that happened, it sent a strong signal; If an expert decides not to sell his web20 services, then I would like to think that means something... They were pretty hard on blog comments, and web 2.0.... however, they were pretty quick to say what they sell works...haha... I am not using web20 at the moment, so I would not know... For those that do use web20, is it still effective, and useful? Thanks
Authority is earned. You don't just "hope" to get authority. The problem lies in ineffective strategies, most online marketers have absolutely no idea what they're doing when it comes to SEO and marketing in general. Please don't call them "experts" simply because they're selling a service.
I called them "experts" because they have high authority sites... and they get more traffic in one day, then most can hope to get all year, maybe even two... They claim that web 2.0 is dead or ineffective, however, when I setup up a web2.0 page and it got some authority, then it increased my DA to my site, so this is why I was asking... and the only link that was pointing to my site at the time was web20 site.... Maybe they were just trying to discredit web20 in some attempt to sell their own service, otherwise, why even bring it up at all....
Some of the web 2.0 sites are not indexed by google. When paste the URL in google this message appears. A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt – learn more.
It sounds like the web20 is set to noindex. Look under those setting to enable so google can index. Google will not index if the web20 is set to "noindex"....
Sounds good but actually the settings are set by default. I had been using before but I didn't face problem but from last couple of months some of the blogs are not indexed.
Web 2.0's are still good to use for SEO, but only very few of them IMO. I personally only stick to blogger and wordpress blogs because they get indexed well by Google and the links from those 2 platforms are dofollow which is great. Just make them with unique content, good tags, pictures, meta tag optimization and push some backlinks to those properties. Also be careful with people who say they are "seo experts/gurus" because so many people claim to be experts but more often than not their knowledge is only standard.
I still use web 2.0, some with high authority. They will help to boost your rank. Make sure to use tier 2 to boost these web 2.0 links.
If you do some quality link building for you website like niche content link building then it may help you to keep ranking for your website organic result.
Web 2.0 sites are still somewhat effective. You want to vary the sources as much as possible, so the backlinks should come from all over the place - instead of mostly high DA sites.
Web 2.0 sites are nothing but a small blog/site designed to get some backlinks to your money site. I have seen lots of people claiming that web 2.0 sites still work...it does work but you need to put some extra effort to those child sites to look natural and gain some authorship. Getting web 2.0 sites indexed in Google shouldn't be the ultimate goal because even if your web 2.0 sites will get indexed, you won't see a significant improvement in ranking because the quality of that backlink will remain the same. I have seen lots of web 2.0 sites having good authorship and they are doing good but 90% web 2.0 sites are built for backlink purpose only.
