Exactly. I have a Macbook and I could install vista but I don't want to waste my hard drive.

If your getting a new PC and they offer it as standard then you might as well keep it.. There have been alot of updates and its getting good now. In around 6months it should be nearly bug free. Vista will be what every one is on at some point, just like were still on xp :)

I personally think Vista is great and I haven't had any problems with it yet, people have complained how it fails on them, but they either don't know what they are doing or are very clumsy, because I put my computer through some vigorous computing and not '1' problem up-to-date.

However make sure your PC is compatible with Vista first ;).

I prefer Vista also. Most of the people that say Vista sucks without giving valid reasons are just people that believe the hype and haven't actually tried out the operating system. There are a few minor compatibility issues but I've had the operating system since March and no problem has stopped me but getting what I need to do done. It's just as fast as XP was too for me with only 1GB of RAM and a dual-core 1.7GHz processor.

Look sp3 is coming in aug,and after that ms would be phasing out xp,then we all window user would have to come to vista. So why not stop complaining and adopt vista.

I recently installed SP1 RC1 for Vista and it helped a lot. I'm really looking forward to the full release.

I hear the recent refresh of SP1 RC1 has improved a lot. Unfortunately it isn't public.

Microsoft Windows Vista is as good as XP. I use both of them :D. Vista has many new functions that XP doesn't...

Wait a bit. Check out the upcoming SP3 on XP and see if SP1 does justice to Vista.

I'm glad I didn't rush out and get Vista. The horror stories seem to keep mounting up. But eventually there won't be any choice...if you want to use a Microsoft OS, that is.

I think I'll wait to the end of '08 and for some service packs to be released before switching over. And I'll have to get a higher end machine to handle Vista. It seems to be not so bad if your computer is powerful enough.

By the way, does anybody think Apple really stands a chance of overtaking PCs? Their commercials are a delight, but it'll take way more than that to make me switch.

My computer runs vista, The only problems i have had with vista is some programs and games. Some of them are not compatible with it. But other then that i like it. I don't plan on changing back to windows xp, but once sp2 comes up im going to upgrade in a heartbeat.
