I found that they would only take so many hits from a particular IP adress before they would stop counting. Not 100% certain though.

Theres no such thing as invalid impresions ....

Invalid clicks is the only term that exist and is not good so don't click your ads ...

w3bmaster, yes there is invalid impression. Remember Adsense serves you both CPC and CPM ads. If you refresh your webpage over and over again 1000 times, you'll generate invalid impressions on CPM ads. The conclusive evidence that it exists is in the formal Adsense "Your Account Is Suspended" email. It contains "invalid clicks and/or impressions."

Back to OP, viewing your website normally won't generate invalid impressions. If you refresh the pages too many times in short period, they will be flagged as invalid.

this is from google help center
Can I view my own site without generating invalid impressions?
Yes, you're welcome to view your own pages without generating invalid impressions. However, please keep in mind that clicking on your own ads is strictly prohibited by our program policies (http://www.google.com/adsense/policies). As you may know, we constantly monitor all clicks and impressions on Google ads for any invalid activity that may artificially drive up an advertiser's costs or a publisher's earnings.

if you use proxy to check your site, make 100% sure whether thats a anonymous proxy and doesn;t reveal your original IP or you might be in trouble

Never heard of anyone getting banned because of invalid impressions.

Even with a million impressions, no one is losing anything (besides the bandwidth) wasted).

    Peace,

azizny, advertisers lose their money to invalid impressions. They pay per thousands impressions too, remember?
