I have almost used such server with Varnish though not sure they install varnish or not on its server though they said their main site using Varnish. My question whether Varnish is as fast and good as Litespeed full version, as Varnish is free which is an advantage.
There is a benchmark on the LiteSpeed forums that demonstrates Varnish compared to LiteSpeed with built-in caching. LiteSpeed + build-in caching handles more requests, is faster and puts less of a load on the server than apache + varnish. http://www.litespeedtech.com/support/forum/showthread.php?t=4638
A couple of minor corrections just for completeness: Varnish isn't a plugin in the sense of an lkm or module. Rather it is a caching application that is installed to work with apache. While varnish is a cache, nginx is a web server. It is often used with apache (on a different port) to server certain types of traffic it is not a cache replacement. nginx is very light and fast so it is often deployed as a reverse proxy to serve e.g., images or static elements in front of apache. Like LiteSpeed, nginx can also be used as a complete apache replacement. One important item you mentioned is DDoS protection. Varnish cannot protect against a DDoS but LiteSpeed has built-in DDoS protection that is quite good.
So based from your answer Litespeed not only fast but also has antiddos but varnish only fast. Still proverb you got what you paid for. Thanks for all of input ans answers.
Varnish could most likely get up to the speed as LiteSpeed, but litespeed offers much more than just making your server faster. - Daniel
Here is a post from the LiteSpeed forums that I think you should read: www[dot]litespeedtech[dot]com/support...ead.php?t=4718 we moved our server to litespeed some time ago and found a difference and our client found a difference in performance only 1 minor drawback though. if you need to get any direct assistance from cpanel you will need to switch back to apache as cpanel dont yet offer support on a litespeed sever
