Is using the keyword "Google" allowed?

I have a website that sells an ebook on how to make money with Google. Am I allowed to optimise it with Google related keywords in the meta tags and content? My concern is with Googles trademark policy.

Yes, you can optimize your site for whatever keywords you'd like. However, you are not allowed to bid for the keyword "google" on Adwords or PPC networks because it is a trademarked term. I would also discourage you from basing your optimization around "google". Considering that Google dominates the first 3 or 4 search results pages for their own name, you don't really stand a chance for visibility. Something like "make money with google" would be more viable although still very competitive.

    Here's your competition: http://www.google.com/search?q=make+money+with+google

Thanks, does this apply for all keywords? How about trademarked product names like "Google Cash"?

Yes, in the realm of SEO, you can optimize for whatever you'd like. Just don't infringe on trademark laws in the process of doing so.

For "google cash", (http://www.google.com/search?q=google+cash) you'll notice that there a bunch of sites ranking that have no affiliation with the actual product.

Yeah that will be a great idea. But keep distance from those trademark keywords. Hope you will get good results further too.

Actually, unless you have specific permission from Google you cannot use the Google name at all to make any profit or gains. This is how trademark laws work, down the road you could see a lawsuit if you ever made any real money.
