    It doesn't matter whether you are using US english or Indian english.... It depends upon the what key-phrases visitors search in google/yahoo/bing...

    The ranking in different country depends upon many factors..
    Few of them are
    your targeting region as specified in GWT.
    Your server location..
    your backlinks..

    Google show different result in different country and you can check using proxy server/IP...

    It depends upon the quality of writing, if you are writing for Internet users then you have to use normal words that are understandable, vast words would not work here I think as well!

    There are some difference in US and UK English. UK English use s and US English use z in many words like:
    Customisation (UK) || Customization (US)
    Other difference can be referring similar meaning with different words. Like:
    Bespoke (UK) || Custom (US)
    Mobile Phones (UK) || Cell Phones (US)

    In India we were earlier using UK version of English. Now US English is getting popular in India as we are becoming more addicted to computers and almost all are using MS-Word with US English as default language. If you are gonna write Customisation in MS-Word or in Text Area of your Browser you will find red line beneath it.

    So some how it will effect but not much. Overall, one have to use keywords in the content that is provided by SEOs after consulting with their clients.

    From the point of view SEO HTML has a stander to follow language wich can be define by a meta tag <html lang="en" xml:lang="en"> this and <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en"/> this where en represents English and that doesn't means it is Indian style of english or US.There is only one stander of english and that is British English for which that HTML stander tag is created.
