What is your opinion? I ordered articles from person who advertised in DP with text that articles shall be unique and would pass the copyscape test The articles were only modified version of articles already in ezarticles and I am sure these new articles are modified enough to pass copyscape test , but is this kind of article unique? When asked about this from the writer he told me that he do understand the meaning of the word "unique" which means that the articles shall pass the copyscape test in any circumstances. I have different opinion what the word unique means, but what other members in DP think?
i think every article is written atleast once somewhere, so if he says its unique, i would check them against copyscape and asses them against the original ones. if there are no major mistakes, i guess it solves the purpose...
When asking for 'unique', I would think its important to clearly specify what you want. IMO, At the top end would be some truly unique prose that expresses some idea never expressed before. All the way down to some crap article with one word changed.
We can talk about different levels of "unique" articles. Passing copyscape is not a full proof to check if an article is copypasted or is original. An article can be copypasted and changed, written with different words but with the same information, and then it will surely pass the copyscape. This is not an unique article, of course. A real unique article is written without any copy of content, the writer makes it with his own knowledge about the niche.
Thanks for the information. Content writing area is new to me and this is exactly what I thought about unique article and never though that it would just mean "that the articles shall pass the copyscape test in any circumstances" First sentences in both articles: "Betting is a popular activity in the European countries and many people make a lot of money through it. The opportunity to place bets is provided by a number of websites. The popularity of gambling is increasing everywhere and therefore the UK government has made liberal policies to allow the Britishers place their bets and earn money. Various sports events are popular among the bettors." ezinearticles The new article "Betting is one of the popular activities in Europe and quite a lot of people seem to make money out of it. There are hundreds of websites that provide an opportunity to place bets online. Loads of people are turning towards gambling and therefore the UK government has developed some liberal policies that facilitate British population to place bets and earn money. Several betting events are highly popular amongst the betting enthusiasts." If this really is "professional and unique article writing", I will too start a new thread and start selling this kind of stuff
I wonder if unique content does exist. All of the contents are mostly copied from one place or the other modified to pass copyscape and it does work wonders . The only question that remains is how google treats them?
A rewritten article is not "unique." At best, it should only be advertised as copyscape-passed if the seller is honest. What's worse though is that, depending where you live, you may be legally liable for those rewritten articles if you purchased them and used them (even if it isn't infringement where the writer lives). It's copyright infringement to rewrite an article where you don't own the copyright or have the copyright holder's permission (such as through a PLR license) - it's a form of derivative work. It's not a matter of opinion. It's not a matter of "how Google treats them." It's a matter of law. I strongly suggest you review copyright laws where you're located.
No, the only questions that remain are: 1. Are you breaking the law by publishing a copyright infringing article without the owner's permission? 2. Is it a quality article that a human will want to read? 3. Is the article a good advert for you or your website? 4. Will people want to return to your website after having read the article? 5. Would you be better off in the long term, writing your own articles from scratch? Google's view of the content is largely irrelevant if you attract visitors who are immediately put off by an obvious poor quality rewrite of what may have been a poor quality article in the first place. Many people need to redefine their understanding of the word unique. Just because a piece of software tells you it hasn't found those exact words in that exact order anywhere else on the web, it doesn't mean the article is truly unique.
With all due respect to the views expressed, according to me unique articles certainly do not mean copyscape approved articles. Copyscape is a tool to check, if the writer has copied the content from somewhere else or not. It does not certify the article "unique", if the article is a re-written version of existing article. An article is termed unique, when the writer writes the article from his knowledge, with a little bit help from internet where he lacks. It does not mean that the writer does enough editing in a existing article, to ensure that it passes copyscape test!! This is the reason, I always suggest my clients to go for niche writers who has hands-on experience on the topic you need articles from and even better, if the writer had the subject in his/her school or college.
thats right. Copyscape is a plagiarism detection tool that uses a 3 word shingle to detect other sites that may be using a piece of text. 'Uniqueness' is far more complicated. For example, I just typed this, and it's unique. But 'far more complicated' exists in MILLIONS of other web documents. A search engine would regard it as truly unique, copyscape wouldn't. If all you want to do is 'pass copyscape', misspell every third word. As for the quality of the 'new' article, he seems to have done a reasonable job.
We can all have the same idea but the way an article becomes "unique" is how you convey the idea, how you choose words that will capture your readers.
Next time I will be little more careful when I order "unique articles" . I opened a job in odesk and this time I truely got unique articles from excellent writer , the writer had researched my topics from various sources and created from that information a unique article.
I had the same experience - writers who are looking for job at oDesk are far more careful and professional then those here at DP.
For sure it exists, when you have an idea and put it into words that's unique, and that's what article were meant to be... informational, easy to read and to solve a problem, articles express the views of the writer and not everyone copies from others
i think your writer is right...i am a writer too...we are not supposed to know about every topics...before writing we are supposed to research on the topic...and that's what we do on ezine...but i think your writer should have researched on other sites also..and have a solid understanding on he topic and then write...but he didn't do so...still his writings passed CS..so that makes it unique..
There's a BIG difference between research and copyright infringement. I suggest you research your own copyright laws before writing anything else for clients if you think copyscape-passed is enough to make it OK. You're dead wrong. India's laws aren't as different from those of the US and UK as you might think. Fortunately for the world, Google doesn't (yet) make the laws. Not being considered "duplicate content" by them is a far cry from making anything unique.
Hope you don´t advertise your writings similar way than my writers is. I declined to buy those articles and now there is a new thread where writer is trying to sell those articles: "All articles are 100% UNIQUE and passed Copyscape. These are high quality, well-researched articles written by an American Native and have never been used. All of these articles took a lot of time to research and thus have the corresponding price."
well Its a Quite Good Post. I have a Very limited Knowledge But it is good to Share. Now let me Explain things Under 2 headings Unique Content --------------- Well belive me or not, every day millions of pages got published so its impossible to say that you will create a unique content. Yea in expressing few moments of your own life ,the content might be unique but if you are talking about some particular niche its really impossible to Say,that you are making Unique(NO Re-written) Content. like for example how to loose Weight. just tell me how you make a unique content. yea you just going to re-write it and express it in a different Way. So for me Re-writting the Articles in your Own style and expressions, is a Unique Content. because you are not simply copy pasting. and off course doing some hard work. or in other sense you researched the particular niche and generated good content according to your sense Copyrights First of all regarding the copyrights. well as far as i know. (damn sure) thats it is not a problem if you use a small part of Others content in yours. I found it while i was Learning(U.K Law) + Dataprotection + Copyrights. and regarding Re-creation of the Content after Research, doesn't hurt any kind of Copyrights. Copyrights = Right to make exact copies so that is what i Think. any kind of comments will be helpful. sorry for my bad english
Not quite. Owning the copyright also gives that owner the exclusive right to authorize or create any kind of derivative work (which is what a rewritten version of an article is). Just 2 examples: US Law UK Law That's what recreation of a work is, even if not in full. What you're talking about in relation to using small parts is called fair use. There are a lot of rules regarding fair use and how those small pieces of content may or may not be used (you'd have a hard time making a case for using pieces of other people's work solely to profit from ad revenue as opposed to a teacher copying segments of a book for students to use for educational purposes for example). Remember, fair use rules don't give you the right to do anything. All they do is offer you a possible legal defense after you're sued by a copyright holder.
