When I say that Twitter is great for marketing, I'm not saying that all you should do is send out links. That doesn't work at all. You need to stay focused and use it to help people, and tweet valuable information.

I've seen lots of spammers, sending only the same pre-written tweets over and over again. Never do this.

I hardly ever send out affiliate links, if I send out any promotional stuff, it's links to reviews or articles about a certain marketing technique.

For me, this is working. I get daily targeted traffic to my blog.

Do you really think so? I've never tried it but there seem to be quite a few people that think their Twittering actually helps with their sales etc? Maybe there are certain tactics that need to be applied to get results?

I dont think so twitter is much effective now , as now days there are lot of spammers who are ruining the environment of twitter , Infact you may use eZdia to promote your product , a new professional networking site. You may find lot of clients for your business on eZdia or even people with knowledge on how to take your business to the next level.

    The best tool ? No
A tool u should be using? Yes
Twitter is a quick way to get in touch with people you would not have otherwise.

I think Twitter is full of marketing, which is taking away from it's original intent, for people to connect. Just as with anything else, though, if there's a way to monetize, it will be done.

If you're going to use Twitter you should really focus on building relationships with people, and have real conversations. Some of the best business comes from people that feel like they have a relationship with you. There's so much more that's there with someone you talk to about regular stuff daily than just a random marketer pushing products.

I mean, think about it. Who would you rather do business with: a buddy that you chat with all the time about whatever comes to mind or someone with whom you've never had even the slightest introduction?

The answer is obvious here, which is why you should think of Twitter as relationship marketing.

If twitter will bring you forward it depends on the quality of the followers you have. It's way better to have 100 Followers who are really reading your tweets then having 1000 that are only bots or posting rss feeds...

    LOL... Great post!

I have to agree. Twitter is definitely NOT the BEST for marketing...

What twitter does have is big hype and buzz... But apart from celebrities, I have yet to see a twitter account that is successfully marketing something which the average joe is behind..

I think it is a great tool if use correctly. It sends traffic to your site if you find a good niche.

Tried Twitter a couple times and it was a complete waste of time. That seems to be the general consensus with others as well.

I still have not figured out twitter yet.. I just do not like their limit of text you can post for each tweet.. you simply can not put keywords and make it meaningful at the same time with 140 chars..

If the text was any longer it would be hard for server systems to hold that amount of data, even at the moment twitters server systems are growing by the hour. Along with that, if the text limit was larger it would look funny :/
