From my own experience I can say that twitter can be pretty handy to get more traffic directed to a particular website but it depends highly on the people who are your followers. Personally I rather use twitter for the sake of an additional source of traffic rather than fully relying only on this.
Twitter is good, you might want to use 3rd party site like twitterlive to auto tweet your new blog entries to Twitter itself. Rgd whether its work or not, Google SEO will be better way to get Traffics. althou slow but is a long term plan.
I find Twitter hard to tap into. I have not had anything go viral yet. You must provide constant relevant information for your followers, otherwise they will unfollow/remove you from their feed. Also, you have only a minute or two to catch you followers eyes. I am looking into programs that autotweet your messages automatically...
It depends if most of your follower came from your website. When they across your website and followed you in twitter. There's a chance you can gain traffic. I get less traffic from my twitter but still you can get traffic.
It can help but I wouldn't say it's enough. It's great because if you have something new or post a new article you can tweet about it. If you have followers who are truly interested in what it is you do it can be an effective tool.
In order to avoid falling into the category of Twitter-marketing-spammers you should make sure to contribute to the community (ie: your niche) of followers and following. You have to get your followers to view you as not just a company selling something, but a figure in your community that has knowledge and information to share. Twitter is the platform that will help you define your public image. As said, retweets are always a great way to contribute to the community. Also, tweet cool things you find related to your field, articles, blog posts, photographs-- anything that you yourself found to be related to what you are doing and think your followers would enjoy too.
Yes, ofcourse, twitter is very useful for increasing traffic, if you have many numbers relevant followers and make sure your tweet should be more attractive.
Twitter is not as the traffic getter as we expect. But depends upon your network and the kind of fans certainly helps in backlink.
Yes, got you very less traffic according to your expectation, but I think enough because this is free.
its really depend on the people following you and on those you are following them.... i like the twitter...
Twitter is really a kind of platform to show your strength by attracting the followers and promote yourself. Twitter is enough traffic generator but depends upon your network.
if you have a lot of followers that do in fact click your links then yes it has the potential to be a good trafficking place
My friend works in a small company in a small town at the seaside, which deals with tourists coming here mostly in summer. There are different opinions at the forum about the usefulness of Twitter for the promotion of the website. He wonders what kind of messages should he send to gain more visitors to their site and whether it is possible at all for this type of business? About the news of the town or about his own interests or what?...
Twitter make your status, means if you have more followers its mean you are reputed and popular person or site.
