Is TWITTER great for seo ?

I am sure that we can get more traffic from twitter. But, is it helpful on SEO? Will having links on twitter help to get more SERP?

 

In terms of strictly SEO - no it is not because the google wont value the url posted on it, as anyone can do so.

In terms of traffic - that depends on how many followers you have, if you get loads of traffic from it - then indirectly yes as search engines like traffic.

Twitter's links are no follow and often shortened so from a technical SEO link building perspective,Twitter isn't particularly useful. From a traffic generation perspective though, it's spot on!

Twitter doesn't do anything for Search Engines, but you can gain a lot of traffic and future leads.

 

twiter masks the URLs and also nofollow so no SEO benefit. people use it strictly for networking and sometimes traffic generation

 

If you have a blog, and use the tweetmeme plugin, tweetmeme generates a page automatically for each of your posts. i think that the tweetmeme page contains a do-follow link to your blog's permalink. doubt that the tweetmeme page ever accumulates page rank; the extra link probably has a de minimis SEO value.

 

links on twitter are NOFOLLOW. that means no SEO credit. Good for marketing may be.

 

twitter provides traffic not backlinks so its not good for seo but good in traffic

 

twitter is usefull for seo.....................bcz its showing all tweets in google....................your content will be picked up by google easily...............and more over you may have one link from your profile as a dofollow...............

Twitter is good way for getting quick traffic but for that you have to be very specific and need to gain number of followers . Seo is nothing to do with twitter and no benefits .
