Well I would certainly agree with that Twitter is just more of a spam now-a-days. Also because of sites like twiends.com and others, more and more people are just trying to follow too many people at quick time. Most of the new SEO people dont realize that twitter followers or facebook likes or group members are created by lot of hard work and patience. This is what today's SEO newbies lack and you get lots of spams all over the networking sites.
too bad to say i gotta agree with you, many people are using twitter to make money, and twitter is one of the good place for "free advertising" and "link building". Therefore, no surprise if you get tons of spammer
Well, you must of selected that option to follow those people. I get twitter spam, but I'm also involved in hashtags - so twitter isn't full of spam, but perhaps, your site is full of spam?
Haven't got a single spam user and had no problems with twitter, ever. It's a very useful tool, most of my followers check my links. Even if some do not, I don't care. One guy here said Twitter is a useless marketing place. Why say things about stuff you don't know, or haven't succeeded at?
Yes, if your in the business niche at least. Everyone just spams each other with their links and follows each other just so you'll follow back. That's why I try throwing in some personal tweets from time to time.
even my twitter is full of 700+ automtaed messages of spam forex trades @litheinvestor and it took seconds to set up. Twitter is very spam friendly.
I use Twitter to gather relationships. For example I needed to write a report on back pain so I asked for leads. Within 24 hours of posting on twitter I had 4 or 5 great leads - not just the Twitter members but "I know a good chiropractor, here's his details" type of response. Can be powerful if used in the right way.
Well its not all spam some people tweet very interesting things. Just follow people that you like and dont let people follow you if you dont want all bots to be your followers
It's not really that great as not that many people actually use it for it's intended purpose : a communication tool Now it's mostly just bots spamming follows and tweets. It was better when it was fresh and new, when everyone was still learning how to monetize through it. Bots made it easier, but then too many came out and ruined most of the opportunities.
I have to say the chances of conducting a conversation on Twitter is getting difficult by the day, a lot of the members are just on auto-pilot, but to be fair Twitter is pretty good at removing them
In my opinion Twitter is full of spam. I am just not sure how it's getting all those millions from investors?!
I haven't clicked on any links which have been tweeted to me yet... I have stopped following a number of people because as soon as a new tweet arrives it gets fired down the list as a load more come in! You need some luck with your timing because tweets get lost so easily!
Having said that I do want legit followers and want to follow people with interesting things to say, hence my signature link
