If we're talking business it totally depends on your client base. For instance, a fashion site would be really popular on facebook but if you are trying to promote say a construction business, twitter might be a better option.
I thought Twitter would be best for business but I'm finding my facebook page is growing naturally the more effort I put into Twitter. Both arre hard though.
I read that 98% of Twitter posts are not retweeted. How can that company be valued in the billions of dollars when it has never generated a profit!
You need both of them coz we can make link Wheel with both of them with other site. if you want visitor in your website than link wheel is a great method. and they r different type of Network. you can make huge difference with both of them. suppose you can use digg in both of them. it will be a good link wheel for you.
twitter and facebook is like comparing apples with oranges i have both for promotion of Bigger Bidder, and for that Twitter kicks Facebooks axxs and basically i dont really like facebook
Facebook and Twitter can not really be compared to each other. Facebook is more of talking to friends, uploading pictures and updating your status. Where Twitter is more just post your status of what your doing. Both are social media marketing sites. But twitter give the more latest update.
I agree with you overall on the non-targeted traffic. However, I believe twitter has gotten me some backlinks.
