I've written hundreds of articles for Ezine since beginning in IM and only recently did I begin to tweak and resubmit those articles to a handful of the best dofollow competing article directories. I realize I can't use google analytics to see if I'm getting any significant more views for those articles, but the analytics on my sites which the articles point to aren't necessarily getting more traffic like I'd think they would considering that each article was keyword rich and should be showing up decently in the Serps, at least a few of them for the almost 200 articles I've since built competing article site worth backlinks to. What other kinds of links can I send towards my initial articles to start seeing them rise in the Serps? Also, is there a good way to check an article's position in the Serps short of just googling that term? I've tried using some tools but they don't seem to work as well on Ezine type articles.
My general article marketing strategy is to submit each article to EZA first and after it is approved and indexed by Google, I submit the exact same article to 5-10 different directories. I typically will point one link in the new articles to my original EZA article and the other to my site itself. This process has been fairly successful at moving my EZA up the SERPS itself. Of course most of it depends on your niche and I still find EZA ranks best within SERPS so it depends on your time commitments as I think there are easier ways to move SERPS other then article marketing.
article directories not only give you backlinks but also give you traffic. if you can tweak and submit to other directories, then by all means do that.
Article Marketing is best way to get Quality traffic and quality links it is worth and you should try it.
Article Marketing will definitely help you getting up in serps. As you say that you have submitted around 200 articles i supposed you just need to wait till those articles get indexed.
