hi, i have recently started a forum with some friends and we want to get some more traffic to our site. my friend told me about a site that you could exchange traffic on. is it a good idea? it seems like it would work but can you guys tell me what you think? my site is http://forum.prestige-gaming.co.uk and the traffic exchange site is http://www.thickmud.co.uk Thanks
reciprocal links are less effective these days i still know lots of people doing 3 way linking though .. you could try that for your forum
I would suggest you build one way links by: * forum marketing * blog commenting * article marketing It is free and the traffic will last alot longer and convert better.
I used traffic exchanges a few years ago, they are effective, but you need to use them to build your list not to get traffic to a site. For instance, they are good for squeeze pages. And you need to use the right exchanges (high quality traffic, and not one where it's possible to cheat). To me, traffic exchanges was too time consuming. And the results wasn't that good. But it works
Too much time consuming, most of the average webmasters are not willing to exchange links, let's say 1 out of 5 webmaster will agree And some of them will stop backlinking you without notice IMHO
I think you better promoting your forum using social network...... for it is great....I also use social network to promote my forum site... first I create Facebook Fan Page within my forum niche.....and then I promote my forum link...
