Is title is more important than description in website?

 

The title is used as a tag for search engines to know what it is about. The description is good for people searching to know what it is about.

 

You must be referring to Meta description and Title. Meta description is used by search engines to list websites. Title is used to determine keywords. Title is more important for SEO these days.

Actually it can and title is much more important. Meta descriptions can be of some help, but Google doesn't even use them all the time as often they will use a phrase on the page that they see as the most relevant for the query. I like to use meta descriptions in case Google does decide to use it and if they do to help entice searchers to click through to my site by providing a little more info about what that page offers.
