Is this worth the go?

I'm thinking of setting up a landing page for a affiliate offer. And then hiring professional seo'ers, so they could get my landing page to a top 10 position for the main keyword of this offer. Has anyone tried this?

If you have budget to spare then try.Make your research before you hire some seo. See how much searches users make every day (use wordtracker) and how many competition would you have (use google trends).

Depends on the kind of landing page you create. Make sure it looks professional with graphics and good use of english and grammer. Real life examples and Testimonials always help. I don't really think professional SEO is required. Basically you need to use the keyword in your site as many times are possible. However if the keyword gets a good no. of searches every month and you get on the top 10 on google, you might get a good no. of sales. It all depends on how well you do it.

The keyword brings in about 60,000 searches a month via google. The offer I want to advertise would be a free lead, and I would get paid $7 per free lead. I was thinking that if I could hit top 10 for that search, then I'm pretty sure that I would get about 10,000-20,000 of those people to click on my site on the google results, and since the traffic is targeted, the conversation rate should be about 1/50 at the very worst. So at the very worst case, I would make $1,400-$2,800 a month.

All of that IF you hit the top 10.

If you can get a SEO to work on a result based compensation, it might work.

Yea, well I have a person that offers a money back guarantee if they don't get you in top 10, so I don't see me being at any lose.
