I was directed by a friend to a site everarticle.com Apparently, I can write an article there and submit it and add my adsense code. Is it within the terms of use to do this?

We call it revenue sharing and that is perfectly fine

It's fine as long as you don't click at your own ads and that you don't tell others to click on it. :)

revenue sharing isn't that great. When they change their Terms, you usually get screwed over

Yes you can use it, but why would you?
I recommend investing your time on your own web properties in priority.
