Hi! Can anyone please tell me if for a particular directory, google pagerank checker shows PR N/A then is that type of directory useless?? Thanks
Not necessarily so. Check as to whether or not the website and webpages are cached. IMHO, I believe that a frequently cached website is more important that one with pagerank.
what's the mean for useless? web directories can improve your serp and traffic but not only pr ranking.
I check to see if the page title for the directory or a snippet of text from the page where I'll be listed comes up in Google. If it does then I figure it'll pass a bit of link juice regardless of the PR of the page. I know of some pages that have a gray PR bar (n/a) and have pushed my search term to page 1 in Google. Most of these have been niche directories so I'd start my search there.
New directories start with a PR n/a. If the directory is an old directory and still has PR n/a on the homepage, I would probably stay away from the directory because they obviously did something against google's guidelines.
It must be a new directory. Submitting such directories can be useful because google might discover your links pretty soon.
