is this true about adsense???

I was once told or read somewhere online that if you have lets say WEBSITE 1 and that website makes lets say $100 per day of adsense and is very unique and then you create WEBSITE 2 which is a complete copy of WEBSITE 1 but you just change the header, color, etc and maybe some content but most of it its the same.

Does adsense penalize you for saving two same sites? And do you start earning less money on them then?

Here is my story. I had a website that was making a lot of money from adsense so i opened up 2 more sites just like that to start growing traffic on them. Now the website that was making a lot of money is making 60% less than it used to make. Now is that because of my other sites being the same or what? i dont really know and would like to find out.

Now if it is what if i close my 2 other sites that i opened. Will WEBSITE 1 start making more money than from adsense?

Adsense don't care how many websites do you have as long as you have good content and TOS compliance

AdSense wont' care, at least not directly. However, Google will see it as duplicate content and you won't rank as well.

Lower ranking = less traffic = lower AdSense earnings

Sounds like your shooting yourself in the foot by messing with duplicate content that can get you a Google search penalty. As others have said, AdSense don't care if you copy your site, but Google search does and if it can be demonstrated you own all three sites there's a chance all 3 will be seriously penalised in Google search.

Couple of years back had a SEO client that was doing well in Google for some very hard SERPs (we'd worked hard for them). Despite my very loud protests they decided to create several duplicates of their site, just changing the colours mainly. Managed to do quite well for about a year, but eventually all three sites got penalised and I lost a client (couldn't afford to pay my fees). Last time I checked they had to start again with a new site.

It's not worth the risk when your doing well, never duplicate your own content.

Well they are not exactly the same. What i mean the same its the same script behind it that runs the site. But like the content is different, diff images, words, etc.

Just take for example a myspace resource website. It seems like every website that is a myspace resource site (layout site) uses the same script.

    With your first paragraph-

"I was once told or read somewhere online that if you have lets say WEBSITE 1 and that website makes lets say $100 per day of adsense and is very unique and then you create WEBSITE 2 which is a complete copy of WEBSITE 1 but you just change the header, color, etc and maybe some content but most of it its the same."

You made it sound like 99% the same (like my client did) and that's a big SEO no, no!

Using the same script to create another site isn't a problem, all 4 of the sites in my sig use WordPress as a CMS (Wordpress is a PHP script) and all have different content. Three of the 4 sites in my sig use the same WordPress theme as well, so style wise look similar, but content wise are unique.

I could easily take the same content and create another site using a different theme (there's hundreds of WordPress themes) in about 10 minutes, but though they would look different, the difference would be superficial since the content is duplicated. Google would pick them up as duplicates and one of them at least would be penalised long term.

As long as the content isn't duplicated you'll be fine. If you've made duplicates of an important site I'd delete them ASAP, setup a 301 redirect from the copies to the original to save the traffic.

If you're creating fresh content regularly for the first site, why not break the content up and slipt it across the three different sites? I'm about to do this with one of my blogs that has been about "Affiliate Programs, SEO and Wordpress Info". I'll be splitting the first blog into three, using the two new blogs for SEO and Wordpress info.

Creating a duplicate site will not help you earn more money. You will not get any organic traffic to that site, so I suggest you remove that duplicate content site.
