Hi guts,i have just finished up building my blog and im really wondering,whats this backlinks all about... Ok i have got an idea.. Just review it and say me,if im thinking correct... Well,i have some some website names,which are frequently indexed in Google and in other Search engines.. So if i place all of those links in my blog,so is it going to drive some traffic to my blog??? Its my concept... Now say me....
If the sites linking to you are relevant in topic/niche then yes. If not then it will hurt your search engine rankings. Search engines try to show the most relevant results for a search term. If your website has a lot of links to it from sites that are related to that term it will make you look like a better and more reliable resource. You should definitely read through this forum and do some keyword research before you start submitting your link to free link directories and other sites. I started on site optimization and link building for 3 of my sites last month and my traffic as tripled. And most of it is from the search engines.
By the way you worded it, it seems like you're saying you want to just link TO all the frequently indexed sites in google from your blog. This probably won't bring you any traffic just because you're linking to them. You need to get a few links from highly trafficked/indexed sites for google to notice you.
I don't see how just adding links will get you traffic or anything... if you link from these sites to the blog - this will result in traffic and pagerank.
Liking to Some Authority Site in Your niche may help indirectly. I think you can firstly consider: Article marketing Directory Submission Social bookmark submission RSS submission Be active in forums and add the url in the signature These may help and the best is that they cost nothing in terms of money (except your electricity bills ....) And I suppose the url next to your username is the post entry of your blog. I think you should focus on your niche / topic, if your aim is to make some money with your blog.

And article marketing, forum signature posting and link directories and so on will promote your site, increase traffic... and putting relevant links on your site to other relevant sites will be useful just for your visitors/readers
But sites where your signature appears don't have relevant topics ? You're contradicting yourself there.
