I launched a new site a couple of weeks back. In the first 7 days of the site it got indexed like mad and i had 250 pages indexed. However now 7 days ltare i still have 250 pages indexed and the hits i was getting to the orginal pages have all but gone. I got myself a backlink or two the other day and these showed up in the google results within 24 hours taking my site up to 252 pages however still nothing more in relation to the site going up. Is this the sandbox or just one of Google's things which happen to new sites to slow them them again? im still getting spidered 1000s of times a day but not much is happening. thanks
Do u mean that you want your site to get ranked or do you fear getting banned by google.... If you are talking about raking mean you wait for atleast 1 month.. If you are concerned about negative results it all depends on the content of your site... Remember content is king!!!
thanks for the reply. I understand what you mean about taking a few weeks to get rankings, the issue i was having was more along the lines that in the first 7 days of the site's history it had seen 250 pages listed in the Google index, and then after 15 days this number was still 250 - google seemed to stop listing any more pages. The site was still being spidered heavily by the googlebo just nothing new had appeared for over a week. I was wonder that because it was a brand new domain if it had been sandboxed a bit because of the newness and this would explain the lack of new pages being added. I have spent the last few days getting some backlinks from it so hopefully the no of pages go up. Would be handy if they do as the site is appearing on page two for 13m result terms and just eneds more pages indexed to enjoy more traffic. All the content on the site is unique and plentiful
