Actually i have created a site which is in mini phase till now ( having 4-5 pages) but i will be adding other keywords optimized pages. For my targeted keyword, my site is in 4th place in google. I have heard that if the site doesn't have PRIVACY POLICY and TOS pages, there is always the risk of being sandboxed, de-indexed from google search engine and probably if adsense is active over the site, its account will be banned or disabled. How much authenticated and reliable this information is? If the answer is YES, how will one take over micro niche sites or blogs from blogger? Please enlighten me!!
Yes that is correct. those policies started 1+ years back only. Definitely your site must contain privacy policy
Interesting, I was not aware of that... either way, a PP is a good thing regardless of it being a must or not.
Buddy, thank you for this info, but what you think of micro niche websites ( probably made by John X factor's methodology). I guess, those sites do not have privacy policy page or something similar. And another thing, is it necessary for blogger blog to have privacy policy page?
You must have a suitable privacy policy if you take part in Google AdSence program. You can read about this in AdSense Program Policies. Other than that, I can't find authoritative sources for any of these pages being required. Think about it, how many millions of web sites are out there, whose webmasters never read any of Google guidelines? How many web sites never had any kind of written policies? Yet Google indexes all of them, because it would be unacceptable for them to exclude a huge part of the Internet from their index because of this. I also heard rumors that Google considers ToS, About and Privacy Policy pages as a minor ranking factor, considering them a sign of a more serious, authoritative web site. Especially if you have any subscription forms, having a Privacy Policy is advisable. It will also add you credibility in the eyes of your visitors. But these are not hard requirements, as far as I know.
Can you please link to a source for that? I'd like to know more, because this may be affecting my site, too. Couldn't find any authoritative source for this.
