PR is here to stay it is of too much importance to Google, just look at all this buzz Google has created by not updating PR for so long. Everyone is talking about it.

If there will be a PR update only Google knows, but if there will be none its a disaster for some people starting a site, sometimes advertiser looks on it and sometimes become a yardstick. Better there will be still PR update, hopefully soon :)

Yeah, think of all those frozen link sale transactions.. if there is no PR update people wont be buying PR and that is what Google basically wants in this particular department..

Honestly why would they care about that kind of buzz?

They're not going to abandon nor will this be the end of Google Pagerank. Their whole search engine is mostly based off Page Rank.

    pagerank is their main metric.
they can't give it up as long as the engine's main work is determing the value of all the page/sites vis-a-vis the relative value of all (incoming and outgoing) backlinks to those pages/sites. that's how their system is hardwired. it's 'mostly' based on link value.

yeah they have all these other 199+ factors, and some of those are real important and growing in importance for sure, but links are really important to determinig the general value of a page (content didn't work and was too vulnerable to spam).
in my opinion they're trying to downplay pagerank because it got out of hand with people trying to game the system....

I got a site update from pr3 to PR 4 this morning, i thought it was the update coming but no other sites seem to have changed.

But i have been noticing its been taking google a very long time to index new pages on some of my sites that normaly update within 2 or 3 mins.

    Anyone else noticed this?

mind to share your site here?

If it is not a glitch, then it should be an update.
