    Hello everyone,

I am busy with trying to get better listings in the search engines. I guess we all are but I'm still learning every day and I could use the help from you experts...

About two weeks ago I was listed at position 145 in google for my main keyword phrase and I now jump between 78 and 75 in Google which I think is already a great achievement.

Please understand that I was/am a complete novice when I started to build my website in november last year. I think I made some progression the past few months but I would like to become better and get listings on the first page of google and hope for page 2 listings or better in yahoo and msn.

My website is for a small business that I run, one you don't hear about every day, with a lot of pleasure I must say It's not the big money train but it makes me happy.

I do however need a good listing in the search engines because I sell worldwide. worldwide searches for my product are approximately 5400 searches each month.

I found out that for my keyword phrase it should not be too hard to get page 1 listings. So that's what my goal is ...
Most of my top 10 competitors have less backlinks.
I bought the url which is from 2003 so i guess im not fighting against an age problem I guess. At least that was the tip I got when I started building my website.

I am now "playing" with my content on the index-page and changing title and metatags. I make small changes and make a record of what happens after the changes.

but to make the intro a little shorter and to start with my actual question.

I searched for allinanchor /text and title
    and came up with

    allinanchor: position 10
    allintext: 9
    allintitle : 6

does this mean I do something wrong because my actual position is between 75 and 78?

Any help or tips is very much appreciated

    Thank you,
    Danny

To start off you have a page http://www.keone.com/home/ which is the same as your homepage - this is bad. You should only have one version of the homepage.

I see 29 links which is OK (it will help to build a load more but 29 is a good start).

Also you have titles, h1 tags etc so you seem OK with this.

Not sure about urls like http://www.keone.com/bambooflyrods/sitemap/ seems like over use of the keywords to me. Unless you have other categories like http://www.keone.com/carbonflyrods/sitemap/ then I would remove the keywords.

You could add 'rodsmiths' to the keywords. Very nice looking site btw.

I can't really speak about Yahoo, but I expect you'll hit page one in MSN long before you do so in Google.

    On to your site:

Let's talk keyword density. I recommend thinking in terms of a keyphrase ("babmoo flyrods" or "bamboo fly rods") rather than key words ("bamboo", "fly", "rods"). Also, ask yourself, "am I going after fly, rods or flyrods, or both?"
You have fly, rods once or twice, flyrods once or twice, but you don't use any of them enough.

I don't mean that you need to cram the text so that is seems unnatural, but for every keyword or keyphrase, your on page density should be in the low teens as a percent of all words used. I didn't measure that for your page, but it certainly seems low and inconsistant.

    I'd certainly focus on that.

Thanks for all your replies guy's

I'm using mambo as a CMS and that causes the duplicate home pages
    www.keone.com and www.keone.com/home

Is this really bad? I really don't know how to work arround this and posting messages on mambo forums did not come up with a solution either.

the <h1> is something I added yesterday for -bamboo fly fishing rods-
I hope this will improve something.

For what key word phrase Edynas? I looked on google.nl just now but could not find me on the position you mentioned.

bamboo flyrods is listed at 4 at the moment and I do get some hits from that phrase but just a few like two a day or so.
bamboo fly rods is a problem when I add more phrases or change "bamboo flyrods" to "bamboo fly rods". as soon as I do that MSN goes up ( position 3) but google goes further down (120 and up)
