I have 2 siteswhere i hav the ads. now the problem is that yesterday in 1st site i got a CTR of 40%(Since only 1 Banner is Kept there) and 2nd has a CTR of 1.2%. Both ads are from same Account hence my average CTR is maintaied at 3.2%. Does adsense check the CTR through Channels or Overall? Will i Be banned Due to the 1st Channels CTR?
But i came 2 know somewhere that CTR more than 10/15% is Dangerous. Do they check through Channels or Overall?
We don't don't know, Google never will tell us this. However, if you, a day, only a day, have CTR of 40%, I'm sure you won't have any problem. The problem is if you have always CTR of 40%.
My question was not regarding CTR. And in my knowledge CTR above 15% is Dangerous and u r talking about 40% I was asking about 2 accounts maintained from same PC(Same IP).
I don't know where people get the idea that high CTR is bad. If one person goes to your site and then immediatly clicks a google ad, then that produces a 100% CTR. If a person goes to your site and immediatley goes to google text links and starts to click on websites within that link, then that will produce one page impression and high CTR because he is clicking on sites within that listing. So with the way google ads are setup, high ctr is possible. Now if I am wrong, Please correct me.
High CTR is not necessarily indictive of doing anything wrong, although it is a fairly good predictor of a site with little-to-no content. So while having a high CTR might not get you banned, having a high CTR indicates you could potentially have a site dedicated to Adsense, which will get you banned.
having a high CTR will not get you banned unless you are breaking the TOS. If you are not, just be happy at the income you are receiving from it.
High CTR is normal for some sites, abnormal for others. There is no "standard CTR". It's devitations from the norm that are most worrisome. A 40% CTR when before you had 4% would be cause for concern, yes, unless there was some event (a link/mention from a high-traffic site) that you could point to as the cause.
nobody ever gets banned for having a high CTR...if you are following the TOS there's nothing to worry
I would argue that any site that had a 40% ctr could not have a reasonable amount of relevant content easily available to the visitor.
All I can say for sure is that I don't have any sites with that high a CTR. As a generalization, though, I'd agree with your statement, though. But I imagine there are exceptions. Again, I think it's the deviation from what's normal for your sites that should concern you, not absolute figures.
Surfer lands on your page looking for something. Surfer is immediatly drawn to the AdSense box and sees what they're looking for, and clicks. Surfer missed the fact that what they we're looking for was on your site. Publisher recieves a high CTR, even though the site had what they were looking for. It's that simple! Pete
