Is this statement true?

I got this told by my friend:

If you write 1-3 articles daily to your blog with unique content you will start getting visitors from search engines if you keep writing on a daily basis.

    Is this a true statement?
If so, how long should i keep writing articles and not doing anything?

I might buy a .info domain and try this!

It might help you get traffic. But it doesn't guarantee that you will get traffic.

What is it that you want to achieve?

    Hi CallMeDaddy
In order to drive traffic you need to do more than just post on your site.

    Syndicate your articles
    Social Bookmarkig
    Ping
    Rss Feed submissions

There are many additional ones but those are at a minimum.

    Hope this helps

It will definitely help you, but you need more than just post unique content everyday.
But of course the more you write the more chances of appear in diverse search results and the more crawled your site will be :)

A trick i use to rank high is to schedual future post incase i get lazy. I go in write about 5 articles and put them randomly in the future when i know i will be tired, and busy.

That is not exactly. The more variation in relatively content topics , the higher chance to get traffics from long-tail keywords. However, content only is not a magic bullet even it might be counted as a King. You need quality backlinks to support those content as well. That's why many seo guru always suggested you to build links to both homepage and inner pages (aka. deep link building).

but you can't just depend on content...

    Hi,

I think having fresh and niche relative contents for your blog would be necessary for a successful blog but might be not enough! You need also to promote your blog and new posts via other channels like forum post, article submission, press releasing and others. :)

    all the best,

I am believing if you are posting some relevant article on your site then you can attract google on your site and gives you more traffic on your blog. so keep posting but also try to do some additional method of web promotion like SMO.

The king alone is nothing. The King needs an army. The King needs land. The King needs people to rule over. The King needs tax money.

As others have said, there is a great deal of work needed for a successful blog.

You will have to do more than that to get traffic.

Bookmarks, directories, backlinks... the list is long.

    Good Luck!

Hi ... I agree, you'll need to do more than simply add unique content to develop traffic. If you don't have the time or inclination to write and post 3-5 unique articles a day, try revising content from an articles site. Retain the information about the original author and source, of each article, but revise the text enough to make the content seem different; it's not a huge job to revise or even edit. This is what spinning software does, if you're so inclined. An idea and you seem to seek ideas. Good luck.
