Is this spamming - Please Help urgently

    I woke up this morning to find over 25 new registered user to my forum board (vbulletin) I normally get roughly 4 per day.

    8 of those have posted pornographic material and sales related items so when i contact them they didnt no anything about signing up to my forum.

    Whats going on????????

    Please help. thanks

    Sounds like spam to me, promoting their sites/aff links whatever.

    If it were my forum i'd delete them, andif possible block their IP Address from going on your forum.

    OK, will do. but what i dont understand how comes 25 people registered in a matter of 8 hours? bizarre.

    Use a different captcha. It worked for my forum and I hardly get any spam now.

    I am also facing this. I am running SMF. I get more than 50 porn or such related spam. They all are bots. I have made a trap which all of them fall. My first category is changed for them.

    Yes, They are all bots & of course SPAM,

    Use CAPTCHA & Email Validation too. This will be almost zero
