Hi, I came across this website: http://www.keywordspy.com/ It seems strange to me that they can tell how much a site pay for a keyword and how much traffic they generates from this keyword. I thought only Google knows...
I recently noticed this domain appearing in our store's referring page lists, and checked it out. I performed several searches on my company and found that most of the results were keywords we have never bid on. I can only assume that this holds true for most other searches, and therefore have nothing positive to say about them.
Its one of the tools I use in my new Adwords camapaign building. Especially when I am a little less familiar with the subject. Its a good starting place, but you need to be careful to only use some of the keywords. One program on "roadside assistance" has the wor d"roadside bomb" as a keyword. I can usually egt a list of 10k keywords together pretty quickly with the program, but it is a bit pricey. Good luck! -Patz
As I understand it, many keyword tools purchase this pricing data (I don't know who sells it). Be assured that KeywordSpy is a real website that provides real data. Another one that provides the pricing data is SpyFu. However, it's definetely a buyer beware thing - I made the mistake of using these number to my VP of marketing - once and I'll never do it again. I found the information was dated and less-than-accurate. Keep in mind that the price will also vary with your landing page copy, ad copy & keyword relvant. If you need a price benchmark (though I still would not take this to my dept. head), go with Google's traffic estimator. The best model I like right now (and this might change in a couple of months) is ispionage. They don't give me price - instead, I can show my boss the ads as they appear on the search results. MUCH MUCH more relevant than the price.
