Is this site illegal?

I own dopiitv.com. There are only a few videos up there right now, but is what this site does illegal?
Just wondering as I can change it to make it legal if it is illegal.

Movies are definetly illegal, unless your server is in swedenland.

 

buy a micro nation, and you are free to go.

 

I think there's certain copyright issues with this one.
Not recommended unless you have a good lawyer!

Well the micronation was a joke right. Or are you serious? haha I can't really tell because I have hard of people actually staring micronations. Well anyway, is there anyway you guys know of to make this site legal?

Yes it’s illegal even if you get a different server somewhere else aren’t there international copyright lows

 

I understand that it's illegal but maybe just simply linking to the youtube.com videos and dailymotion videos, would that be illegal?

no that would be fine u just cant host the videos + that will save you loads of bandwith

 

Yes but right now I am not hosting the videos. I am simply linking to them BUT playine them inside of my player. Is this illegal?

P.S. I am not I repeat not hosting the videos, I am simply linking to them, but playing them inside of my player. Please post your suggestions on this because I really don't want to finish this site this way and find out it's illegal.

If you are not hosting the videos, I think you are ok. They will only go after the ones who are hosting the videos.

 

you will get in troube with sites like youtube and google videos and so on your the reson they let you use their videos is to get advertisment since your taking that away from them they might come after you

 

If you are hotlinking to their content, sooner or later they are going to cut your method of doing it off by blocking the IP of the server requesting the feed.

It will show up on their logs, and no doubt their site is all configured to flag up this kind of stuff sooner or later. Over time they are going to have the same IP address requesting the same feeds, over and over and over again. Then the flags will go up! Then your feeds will go down!

You can see from the source code of your viewer that you are swiping the content for mythbusters, for example, from you tube:

As long as you are just linking to the content you're probably alright. This is the exact way AlbumBase.com continues to operate.

So what I have gotten so far is that as long as I am not hosting the content its fine, and btw my script runs on a proxy, so I can just change my IP if it gets blocked.

why do you do a business if your going to ask if its illegal or not? if you have that doubt then dont do it at all.

 

IMHO, hotlinking is unethical, but not illegal,

so, go ahead while it lasts if you're fine w/ it

 

i like your site looks good need a littel more word but its coming along. 3500 people a day start video sites so there is a big list of people so i think your safe. you cant copyright flash

Also wouldn't plan on Google letting you keep AdSense on there for too long.
