Is This Site Hijacking Me in Google?

Discussion in 'Reviews' started by Chiara, Jul 30, 2006.

Why did someone move my post to reviews? I just deleted it. This isn't a call for a site review, as I said I don't want to post my URL. I was talking about a site that I thought was being hijacked in Google, so it belonged in the Google forum, no?

At first glance, I'd say no. What is the url of the site you think has been hijacked?

If it's about Google results, it should go in Reviews. The Google forum is only for things about Google (as a company), not results or other sites.

It is a common mistake, but ultimately you were talking about a site, how it appears in any engine does not make it specific to that category, it is still about the site.

I was really asking not about my site in particular. I posted the link that a spam site posted and asked if the format of the link was some form of redirect and asked if they were hijacking sites in Google. Maybe it didn't belong in the Google forum, but it definitely doesn't belong in site reviews!

    I'm not a buddy. I'm a buddette. ;)

Nope, it was about the link the spam site used to link to me and other sites. I don't want anything reviewed on my own site.

The fact it's not your site is irrelevant... it's still about a site that's not google.com...

Without your url to check things out, the best I can do is point you to this thread:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=107949
where I tried to help someone else detect a 302 redirect. There are some hints in there for finding and fixing such problems.

Thanks, much appreciated. It turns out it's just the way the McDar tool reads things. I added a trailing slash to my URL and the problem disappeared.
