Hi, I hope this is the right topic to post this question. (Admin, move it if need be) I recently upgraded a site from SMF forum to Vbulletin Forum. Can someone tell me if the site www.digitizingtalk.com is banned by google. I cant seem to find it in the results. Yahoo and msn are showing the site in the results. Can i know why was it banned from anywhere? If it is banned how can i bring it back to googles index? Sahel
End of May 2006. it was running on SMF.. I recently switched to Vbulletin without any downtime at end of September 2006. I just wanted to see how my site is doing with the search engines and found it not to be there anymore. Im sure the main forum page was indexed by google (when it was on SMF). Yahoo and MSN are showing my site perfectly. Sahel
Might be something possibly to do with redirects... try putting your forum on the root domain as apposed to redirecting all the way down to the folder /forums. I've got the same issue with one of my sites... ive no idea why its banned... http://www.dietdebate.co.uk
Yes thats what i thought so.. Ill make the move to the root and see if it re-indexes. Do you think i should submit a request to re-index after the move or let the googlebot crawl itself?
Personally i'd build up some good backlinks that get indexed on a regular basis... i also work on the theory that its best to let google find your site through other sites than it is for you to submit it yourself - get a good couple of PR ranked pages linking to you and you could get indexed in a couple of days! Alternatively in google webmaster pages you can resubmit your site if you feel it has been banned stating why you feel it was banned in the first place... that might get it visible on google again...
Im gonna make a xml sitemap and sumbit it to googlesitemaps. Further comments are appreciated. Thanks everyone.
your domain doesnt appear to be banned by google. try using submitexpress ,addme or these type of sites to submit your website. Also use meta tags, soon your site will be indexed.
Site has never been down since May 2006. It had SMF board at first, which did not index well. Only the main page was indexed. Then i bought a VB licence and switched it to VB without any downtime. I did use a 301 redirect to the forums/ folder which i think may have caused the problem. I have now moved it to the root.
Indeed, you are not banned - obviously just bad SEO To a search on google for: digitizingtalk Your site appears - which means it hasnt been banned. My site on the other hand can't be found anywhere!
Yes if i search for digitizingtalk it appears in the results. Thanks everyone !! I better do some SEO works on this one!
you should now work on SEO for about 1 full month, then you will surely see an increase in your traffic with all the pages indexed in google.
