Well.. as you have seen in the title, my server has a bit lot of load. Is that normal?

    load average: 36.02, 27.48, 16.28

If not, what can I do?

    My machine:

    CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13GHz

    Number Of CPU(s): 2

    Speed: 2128.005MHz

    That is not OK.

What sort of access do you have to the server?

Can you run the `top` command to see what process(es) are using up all the CPU?

    Definitely not normal.

As mentioned above, you must get to the 'top' command.

Thats a lot, it should not be more than 1 (100% usage) for each cpu, so max should be 2. But do you notice any difference in performance ?

What output do you see when you run the `top` command?

How is disk space utilization on each of your partitions? Can you show us the output of the `df -k` command?

Holy cow, something is definitely off.

Is that what you got from `top`?

That's too much load - I'd be surprised if all your services are up and running.
If you run WHM check Apache Status and CPU/MySQL/Mem Usage.

Log in to the server and type 'top'
Copy and paste the output here.

If you're stuck try: ps -auxw
and paste that for us also

    Pasting the output from: dmesg
    would be helpful also.

Reboot the server...and high server loads doesn't always mean that much cpu utilization...CPU load is just an indication and often misinterpreted.

But, yes, the values are too high.

Your server can take a maximum of 2, and it seems as if you need a more powerful box. You should try using the top command to find out whats wrong... also you can use the Apache Status and CPU/MySQL/Mem Usage feature in WHM to determine whats wrong (the red highlighted items will be it). If it's a mysql thread, then use the mytop utility to determine whats wrong (it'll show which database is using how much).

Max. acceptable load(considered as normal) = 1 for each processor. In your case, its 2
