Hello everyone! I have made my new forum, which is called NosForum.com . So I have decided to add some money earning sections, but also a TV/Movie section. Is it allowed, that people post movies there, like family guy? Is it illegal for me, even if I do not post these?
...Wait, you mean like post information that is protected by trade laws, where you make money for it? Downloading something like family guy for free isn't piracy; downloading it, posting it, making a profit from that stolen material...is piracy defined
I agree with GoldSEO. Even if you are not hosting the data you are profiting by directing people to the copy-protected materials. If you are hosting these files then you should be very careful, or shut it down ASAP.
Disclaimer: I am not an attorney. Even though people are just posting links to the sites that host the videos, you would still be taking a huge risk and could be shut down by your ISP or the Feds if you are reported. Ask your attorney for more guided informaion.
Host it outside the US and don't host the content. Then you'll be fine legally... I'm not going to give moral advice.
Mate, look at the amount of NZB and torrent sites that have been shut down over the past 12-14 months. They did not hold the files either. It's not worth the risk, even if you might make a lot of $$$ in the short-term.
Since you are trading in copyrighted materials, which is illegal under US law, the US government can come after you for piracy. However, it's highly unlikely at this point, not until you get big enough to start attracting their attention anyway. Case and point, the recent bust of MegaUpload.
