I m here on DP from past year and i have seen many members just crazily post in general chat section to increase their post count Is This Right to use General Chat section as a place to increase the Post Count ????
only meaningful & non-SPAM posts... EG posting "lol" or "i agree" or something would most probably b deleted (report these if you see them.) whereas someone who posts a lot, but their posts are meaningful and contribute to the thread... theres nothing wrong with taht cos they are contributing.
Well It's depend on knowledge And most of knowledgeable DP members still helping to each new member. Sharing new technology, latest news,Events etc..
Though I am new to this board I fell it doesnt make any sense having a GENERAL CHAT section on such a serious board.
I don't see how you can exclude yourself from the rest when you are doing the same thing. Next time you may want to use the Suggestions forum! I personally feel the post count should be disabled in General Chat, but it might reduce forum activity for many. Plus, I don't see the advantage for a user to increase the post count. Do we get paid for posting? Was I gone for that long
well- if the discussion is full of knowlege then let it go plus if you spend the whole day in working you will feel happy to meet your family and gossips and fun etc in the same general section is a place where after hectic work you can relax yourself
Loads of people do use the GC section as a place to increase their posts. The GC is still an important part of DP though- loads of people hang out here. One option might be to disable post count in GC, but I'm not sure that will be implemented.
i think this is a base for every new members.. they can get more knowledge and the way of Dp from here. As it is also a part of DP so it is right to post here but i think it should be meaningful and relavent.
Well posting in General Chat is one way of increasing post count but it doesn't means that people just here for increase for post count. Sometimes after making posts, members love to stay in GC and it's a great place to relax and make some fun with other members.
