Suppose i have a 200 page site about tourist destinations of a specific country. I want to build backlinks for the same thru article marketing. Now if a write an article related to a specific state of that country, the backlink i leave at the end of the article, where should it point? To the home page or to the subdomain which has all the information for that particular state? Like if the site is www.indiantouristplaces.com and i have submitted an article on Kerala state, should my backlink point to www.indiantouristplaces.com? or www.indiantouristplaces.com/kerala.html?? Also if it points to subdomain, should all the articles related to that particular state be pointed to that same subdomain having information about that particular state? Am i clear? please advice if this is the right backlink building strategy or can u add some more light to this?
It is a good idea if the link is relevant to the article, so for the example you gave the "city" or "state" page.
to get relevant backlink, you will need to link to the city page that your article talks about. writing an article about New York and linking to Dallas page for example doesn`t make sense and you will not get relevant backlinks that way.
you should give first preference relevant work...whenever add state, city then used your main inner page and target page...
You should link article backlinks about 'State A' to your 'State A' subdomain. Do not link everything to your homepage.
