Is this programming even possible?

    does any programmer here know how to make a tool that will compress a 700MB divx video file into a 10MB divx file without losing any quality? I guess if this was possible,someone would have made this by now right?

    I dont see it being possible at all.

    700MB to 10MB??vedio file??wow this will be a great compression......i think it is not possible....but if anyone can make it possible then he will get a certain reward for it.

    Not possible as of right now, and for a long time to come, if ever. And if it where to be possible, I doubt 700mb files would even exist in the first place! That would make no sense!

    The thing about codecs (DivX,WMV,Xvid,RM...) Is that they actually compress the video, from an uncompressed video (AVI).
    Codecs compress video.

    I think the best codec out right now is MPEG-4
