is it possible for people to come to your website and upload videos onto your site using youtube? like a youtube platform integrated into my website?

    is this possible?

we've got a page on our site and we want people to upload their videos.

    thanks!

Well the idea would be that they upload the videos to youtube and then they embed the videos into your site so they can watch them through your site.

Yes that is also possible, but the problem with that would be that you will need to have a complete video uploading system, video player, user permissions, etc all setup to allow for uploads. The secondary problem is bandwidth. Hosting videos takes up a lot of resources, and if you don't have a powerful dedicated host, I would advise against hosting videos yourself. Especially if you don't know what you're doing.

We just did something like this for a few clients recently. We worked with a company called MediaSoft - mediasoftpro.com. They produced a YouTube knock-off that is extremely comprehensive. It has much of the same functionality of YouTube, and will also allow you to embed YouTube videos on your site, so videos can be uploaded via YouTube and displayed on your site. Take a look at their demos on the products page - ASP.NET Video Starter Kit - Advanced Edition. It is extremely affordable as well at $599 including source code.
