How much cutomization am I able to do on the ad that is shown on my site?

For example, if on my website I'm providing an online service. However, to use the service the users are required to purchase a certain device. I would like to show adsense ads for the sites that are selling this device so users have can see various vendors selling this device. Is this possible?

Has anyone ever used the default custom ads function? How many ads am I allow to have?

The reason I want to use the custom ad is that I think if I just let adsense pick the ads without manual intervention they will just show ads that are selling similiar service my site is providing, which are competitors. I have doubts about the other filter and block functions. I think the easiest way is to show ads for the specific device that the users need.

What's my alternatives here? Is adsense my best option here? any suggestion is welcome!

that ads are contextual, so yes that is possible

but really depends on how popular your niche is.

You understand so well about what your readers want. I suggest you to look up suppliers of the equipment your readers are looking for, call them up and see if you can earn a commission selling the equipments. This is hard job but good business.

Then, forget about adsense and advertise your own business.
