Is this possible in wordpress?

I am making a new wordpress theme for one of my site and I want to show "Recent Posts" only on the post pages, not on the homepage.

Is it possible to show Recent Posts on the sidebar on post pages only?

 

I think it is possible by working on singlepage.php.

Anyone can give 100% sure answer? because I need to make the theme according to it.

If it cannot be done then I will have to change some elements from the design I am working on.

 

yes, you can use an exclude plugin to get this widget appearing only on some of the pages

 

The single.php file is responsable for viewing single posts. If you wnat to show something in sidebar that will show only in single view then use <? if(is_single()) { ?> code here <? } ?>

Try a plugin called widget context. it lets you control which pages you want widgets to display on.
