Is this possible? I'm soooo confused.

I would like to know if this is possible, and if it is, then can you help me?

I would like to have an RSS reader within a website, so it does not need to be installed on a client computer. The reader will constantly (about every minute or two) check the server for any updates that have taken place within a certain folder. (**By updates, I mean this...any files placed in the folder.) These updates will be listed in the RSS feed, and a hyperlink is shown.

Do you understand what I mean? Is this possible? Is there a better way to do this?

    Thank you in advance!

Oh, yeah. It's possible. It's called an RSS parser. Do you have PHP enabled on the server hosting your site by any chance?

(By the way, pinging the host server every minute for the feed will chew up a LOT of bandwidth on the host server, and your server's IP address will most likely get blocked by the other site.)

I am still trying to figure out what to do, so I guess I could have PHP, although I'm not used to it. (I'll be setting up the server.)

For what I'm thinking, I wouldn't be having more than 10 computers hitting the server looking for updates. Its not going to be a www feed.

Thanks, I've never heard of the RSS parser. I'll try to look up more information on it.

Yes. I know what I'm asking is going to be hard. I'm not a programmer, unfortunately.
