    Hello,

Today I checked my email and saw this in the inbox....

Notification of Limited Account Access RXI033

Here is what the email says...

    Hello,

As part of our security measures, we regularly screen activity in the PayPal
system. We recently contacted you after noticing an issue on your account.

We requested information from you for the following reason:

A recent review of your account determined that we require some additional
information from you in order to provide you with secure service.

    Case ID Number: PP-XXX-XXX-XXX

This is a second reminder to log in to PayPal as soon as possible. Once you log in, you will be provided with steps to restore your account access.

Be sure to log in securely by using the following link:
Click here to login and restore your account access

Once you log in, you will be provided with steps to restore your
account access. We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure account
    safety.

In accordance with PayPal's User Agreement, your account access will remain
limited until the issue has been resolved. Unfortunately, if access to your
account remains limited for an extended period of time, it may result in further
limitations or eventual account closure. We encourage you to log in to your
PayPal account as soon as possible to help avoid this.

To review your account and some or all of the information that PayPal used to
make its decision to limit your account access, please visit the Resolution
Center. If, after reviewing your account information, you seek further
clarification regarding your account access, please contact PayPal by visiting
the Help Center and clicking "Contact Us".

We thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Please understand that
this is a security measure intended to help protect you and your account. We
    apologize for any inconvenience.

    Thanks,

    PayPal Account Review Department

Please do not reply to this email. This mailbox is not monitored and you
will not receive a response. For assistance, log in to your PayPal account
and click the Help link in the top right corner of any PayPal page.

I logged into my paypaly account by going to paypal.com and there was nothing in my account telling me about limited access or letting me know I needed to verify something.

Has anyone gotten this email before, and is it real or fake?

    Thank You,
    Chris

It's fake then, if there was nothing limited when you logged in at PayPal.com. I imagine that email has some link it in, asking you to click it? Hover over the link and you will see it's not the PayPal.com domain.

Never do anything these emails tell you - if it says you need to login, go to the PayPal.com website and NEVER follow any dodgy links.

Still it will be better if you go through PayPal.com and not from this link. If your account is limited, you will see everything there in your account and you can follow steps from there.

Also, PayPal ALWAYS starts off an email by saying Hello <First, Last Name> for Personal and Premier Accounts OR Hello <Business Name> for Business Accounts. This is one way you can tell if the email is legit or not.

If there was no name at the top of the email, or if there was and that name does not match what your PayPal Account says - it's a fake.

yea snotb411 i think its fake. i recieved same email today also. i emailed paypal asking if it was valid or not. no response as of yet. also there was nothing mentioning a problem when i directly logged into my paypal account.

i say its fake and just a phishing scam. its not a normal ebay url in the link thats a fact. and it was recognized as spam. ebay isnt set as spam in my mailer rules.

I'm not being rude, but use your eyes. The actual URL is http://www.paypal.com.t39xtv607mqomrjlsyl7.005kpq38n0hmXXXXX8h0es2.com

The paypal.com part is a subdomain, as you can see there is another .com at the end.

    Honestly, just don't click links.

I know this is now old, but it's important.

It's real email, your paypal account was limited. You login normally but if you make any transaction such as sending money or payment, the limited notification will appear on your paypal account. I got this case 2 times.

It's a fake email. Just forward the email to "spoof@paypal.com" and delete the email. I always do this.

Whenever you got an email saying that your account is limited, do login to your Paypal account, type www.paypal.com in a new browser (don't click any link given). If nothing happens, then it's a real fake email.

Please do include the headers for the email. Just the content isn't much help.

I think its paypals policy never to put links in there emails, to reduce the amount of queries and problems.

I can see that a mile away. That's a phishing url if you look closer. Do not click it. If in doubt in the future, check the email header and then you'll know if its from PayPal.

Emails from PayPal ALWAYS Start with Dear <First Last Name> (for Personal or Premier accounts) or Dear <Business Name> (for Business Accounts) and that name *exactly* matches what is on your PayPal Account.

That is one sign as to whether an email is fake or not - if it doesn't start off with your PayPal Name.

It is %100 FAKE. I get these all of the time. The fact that it says paypal.com.anything means its fake. If there is a . after the com then it is a fake. I did this as a joke before to get my friend's myspace password. I made myspace.com.confirmemailpassword.someotherstuff and sent him an email telling him to put in his email and password to confirm his myspace account

lets expect always the best. I suggest you, do not place all your eggs in

"very one basket". And do not keep longer your "eggs" in that basket.

lets hope for the best always.
