Hello, I've just updated the look and the content of my iQ Desk site. Do you think the homepage sells the product well? many thanks!
He's just another dumbass poster, among so many here, who post, just to post. They want to be part of something. It's pretty good. Just the right amount of info, without info overload that so many other webmasters do. Perhaps move the "try now" button down below, and repeat the "click here to see a demo" link again? Or, better still, have it on the same page. Hit them at the heat of the moment. Improper grammar. And I would move that off to the side, and make the text smaller. This will make your page shorter. It will give the illusion of not so much to read on one page. But I would still suggest putting the free demo on that page.
Looks good to me. Colors are easy on the eyes. Content is straightforward. How about making the "take action now" similar to the "try now" button? On the overall, good layout. All the best.
To be honest i dont like it. My problem is you have some great WEB application that should help me and yet your web site looks like its been made by amateur. Your web site doesnt have a header or footer, i mean you dont have to have them but in your case it looks unfinished. Also you have way too much information i should know the features of the software in about 15 sec or the customer will leave the site. And like its been already noted the try now button is way too big and distracting. I think you should consider designing your web site like this: Original view: easybackupwizard.com Alternate view: easybackupwizard.com/index.php?lp=alt This is a software also, the design is clean the colors are easy on the eyes you know what is about in 5 sec, and the download now button is not so distracting. You should consider a layout similar to that web site. Here are also 5 variations of the same layout psdtuts.s3.amazonaws.com/001_WebDesignWeek/12_Styles/final.jpg Im sorry for being too critical but thats my honest opinion.
thank you all for your comments (apart the first one ) I have fixed the grammar mistake (thanks!) pmcheck - you are right about the I need to change the text a bit so customer will understand in 15 seconds what it is all about. I don't agree with you about the design, but I think it is a matter of taste because I didn't like the example you gave. It seems too pale for me. And I don't understand your comment about headers and footers. They site has them and it has done by top professionals. About the amount of text - it is really difficult to get the right balance. It is a great application that costs $298 so I do feel customers need to know what they are going to buy. By the way thanks for being critical and saying your honest opinion. This way I can improve the site and know what people really think.
To be honest I like it.. The layout looks professional... the text is fine, maybe you should through in some screen shots as examples of what the program can do.. so people can kind of see what they're reading, I know a lot of people don't even try new products unless they get a real good first impression. The home page is their first impression regardless of if they download the demo or not. Maybe you can have a video made of the demo in use, it needs some extra visual in the page besides the text and the screen shots at the top.
the question you need to ask is Does this page do a good job at selling my business? I would say it does a good job but not great. To much white for me and not enough pictures although I am impressed by a picture or graphics by a website but that is me as a visual type pf person. but it does a decent job although I skimmed through it because I lost interest after the first paragragh
yes I think you right. I need to add more pictures which I am working on it now. Thanks for letting me know that you have lost interest it means the text should be better
Hi formula, I have a couple of major suggestions for you. 1) Your content is too wide. The rule of thumb when designing a site is to ensure that it is compatible with 1024x768 resolution. Some web designers even go so far as to design a site compatible with 800x600 (those are usually old school web masters, but it has credibility). My point is, you could easily change: #wrap { background:#fff; margin:0 auto; width:1069px; } Code (markup): to #wrap { background:#fff; margin:0 auto; width:100% (or 90% if you like having empty space on the sides); } Code (markup): Let me show you what I am talking about: Next suggestion I have is reducing your initial content to a more manageable size. I want your first "screen" (the very first section of your homepage I see when your page loads) to tell me what your product does (bullets are a good option) and why I need it. Just some suggestions.
yes you right. This is the problem when you develope a site using wide screen monitor. I am going to fix this. Thanks!
You're welcome. I had to learn this one for myself. I designed my first site, and it was really awesome looking, up until visited my parent's house, and logged onto my Mom's computer to show my family the site. The site was 20% wider than a 1024x768 resolution was capable of displaying in one page. I have never made that mistake since. Good luck to you bro.
