    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

Is this OK?

I visited http://www.guybuys.com, and found there is a ad unit which looks like adsense ( Below the "our partners", at the bottom of middle).

    Is this allowed?

Personally I find that deceptive. The horizontal rule may save them but I would ask Google before I tried that. The TOS used to say something about what you could and could not say.

It's definitely not against the TOS because the ad is general and isn't targeted like Adsense's.

I think they are cutting it pretty close.
Now, that ad looks very much like Google's. I'd rather not take chances like that.

The football betting one? I think they've made it like that just so it fits in with the Google ads - I don't think the intention is to deceive.

I personally wouldn't do it because I'm paranoid, but I don't think that is against the TOS.

Don't be silly, of course the intention is to deceive. :) Why do you think people "blend" their Google ads into their site? It's not because they want the visitor to have an easier time navigating. It's so the visitor will be tricked into thinking the Google Ads are part of the site's navigation and thus click on them. Google knows it, Google encourages it, and Google won't ban you for it. Why do you think the first thing Google tells you if you ask them for advice is to blend their ads into your site? ;)

Yes, I agree with you tooschoolforschool - I think I was unclear in what I meant. I was trying to say that this site wasn't trying to pass off the football betting ad as a Google AdSense ad.

Wondering why this is allowed. Aren't they branding the adsense with "our partners" as well?????????

If it's your site, get rid of that "Our Partners" thing. If it's not .. let it be .. If it's against the TOS, I'd say Google will let them know..IMHO, Google won't penalise them for it. It's not as blantant as "Click Here" or other variations that we have seen posted at this forum.

    That's what I think. I may be wrong ..

seems fine to me! i second toocoolforschool!
....there is 2 types of deception -
    1) "Google endorsed" deception
    2) "Breach of TOS" deception
    :)

You should try to do no.1 as much as possible! :)
