Is this odd? How can this guy be #3 spot in google with only 6 sites linking to him?

    hey all i can say is quality links are most important... rather than just quantity.. n also understand our major off-pafe optimization include press release submission, article submission n all... these provide gud quality of one way links... but these links are not included in "link:" tag... only the links tht we do by link exchange n directory submission are mainly shown here... so it can b possible as per wht u hav seen n wht google goes for... anyhow one more thing to point out is tht none of us kno for sure as to wht exactly are google alogos n on wht all things does google give more priority too.. we can just keep guessing n thts all.. rest i feel tht this is a gud example so as to understand the alogos of google even ... :D

    cld u plz PM me the details of this search engine so tht i can also study from my end.. i promise tht this info will b totally confidential... :)

    QUALITY LINKS do NOT = high PR links it is apples and oranges again

    Have to strongly disagree on this. There are loads of websites that have high page rank even tho they have links pointing to the are not relevant. some of the strongest links that point to digitalpoint.com are from a weather site (PR 7)! + loads of other high PR sites that have no relevance.

    You didn't understand the post. Relevance has nothing to do with PR. If you want to increase ONLY your PR, relevance makes no difference. A high PR link does not mean it is a quality link for ranking purposes. The number of outgoing links on the page directly affects the amount of PR a link will pass to your site i.e. a PR4 link can pass more PR to your site than a PR7 link.

    I think the domain was old, the no.3 guy just started optimizing his site, got some good no. of backlinks recently9which google is not showing, you can see it in yahoo or msn), and he can see it in google.com/webmasters links section.

    If he has got proper links from realted site he will be there for some more time, if not in this update he will be out. ;)
