You want to have your adsense blocks ABOVE the fold. As of now, they're completely out of view and require a visitor to scroll down. Place a small rectange block wrapped around the content at the top. Then further down, wrap some more content around another block. As for your blending, it looks good to me. See if you can get your link unit on top of the green bar under the links. This should help with the CTR for that.

FYI: For 1k impressions, don't expect a huge amount of clicks. Build up more traffic, and then you can expect more clicks.

    Nice layout!

tips: you have a lot happening on that page. don't expect clicks if you don't blend within the content. adsens is correct, put ads above the fold and try it out! goodluck (I'd remove the skyscraper in the right sidebar and put it under the title in the main content as a leaderboard).

try using the big rectangle ad format - that's s'pose to be the highest converting one

Hmm....I would but I don't want it to distract readers too much. The current ad format is distracting enough and I was against putting this much distraction in as it is.

Plus, I've already seen conversions from the few minutes this version has been up :). I think I'll stick with this format!

    - Put one 468x90 or 728x90 block after the title of your article.
    - Ad one rectangle block in the middle of the article.
    - You can ad one big horizontal link unit after your site menu
    - experiment:)

2-5%, sometimes more if you have natural (search engine) traffic.

if you get impressions from sites like Digg and SU maybe less than 1%

Yeah, your CTR is quite low. You could use some other ad unit formats (big rectangles for example) and blend your ad background colors with site's background. Will work better for sure.

Man, don't you know what is CTR? Read about it!

Your CTR is below 0.1%. As standard we take 1% to 5%, but higher values are also possible, it vary for particular sites.

Yeah, maybe it's just because it is mainly SU traffic right now.

What's the average for SU traffic?

I think 1000 impressions just make 1-2 clicks.
    I also facing this problem.
