Is this Normal With Dmoz Submission????

Hello everyone I recently submitted my site to the Dmoz directory and in the days to follow i received a 25% spike in traffic from stumble upon. I run about 125 domains and this was the only one i submitted and also the only one that got the spike in traffic from stumble upon. (I'm assuming there related)

If i understand right AdSense and stumble upon don't mess, and its frowned upon to use stumble upon.. Is that correct?

I did this more or less as a test and so far it turning out negatively. Unfortunately i submitted my most valuable asset and now I'm afraid it might bet banned.

Has anyone had this problem or can suggest a solution?

    Thanks in advance,
    David

The spike in traffic from StumbleUpon is definitely not because you submitted your blog to DMOZ. Besides, some bloggers reported that they've been accepted to DMOZ after over a year. You'll get notified when your blog is accepted.

Regarding StumbleUpon traffic, I'm not sure it's against Adsense's TOS but the fact that there are many established and reputable bloggers using it, you shouldn't worry about getting banned. The best thing to do is read Adsense's TOS. :)

I'll have to agree with bloggingmix. DMOZ are not exactly the fastest directory when it comes to accepting submissions. Just put it out of your mind and continue to do whatever you are doing. At some point in the future an e-mail will arrive and you will know whether you've been accepted or not. Worrying in the meantime is absolutely useless.

I've read your post through 3 times and I still can't work out what dmoz has got to do with it. You submitted your site to stumbleupon, and got hits from stumbleupon. So - no surprise there.

Thats the Thing Magda i never submitted my site there. I know it takes a lot time to get submitted to Dmoz and I'm not worried about that issue. My only Worry is why i'm getting a spike in traffic from stumbleupon right after i submitted my site to Dmoz.

Are Dmoz and Stumbleupon Related in anyway?

David, the two web sites are not related in anyway.

What probably happened is that after you submitted your web site to DMOZ an editor has taken a look at your web site. The editor that did this probably liked your web site and submitted it to StumbleUpon, pure and simple.

Google will not ban you for being stumbled or for the resulting traffic as long as your web site is inline with their TOS.

Yea, they are not related at all. I don't know where you got the association from. I have gotten stumbleupon traffic too lately and I have no clue why. It's weird.

I believe that DMOZ.org have been having editorial issues lately and that is why it would seem to be taking a little time to get listed, both myself and a few others i know have been waiting for almost a year now.

GOOGLE, have now devalued links from DMOZ.org and some other various directories. (Just keep trying)

StumbleUpon is a good site and if you have the right Niche', then all should go well.

As for the Google Adsense Question, i believe that this should be fine and the traffic is fine, providing there is no click fraud or illegal going on's happening.

    Best Regards,
    Mike
