All of a sudden a keyword of myne (number 1 spot) is gone? it was there for like a day also?

I am still new to this stuff so I am not sure. I havn't made any changes except maybe add more backlinks by commenting on blogs.

also: I am about to change my template to something else (i paid for this). Will the template change hurt my SERPs?

To answer your first question, this is (unfortunately) normal. The nearer to the top of Google search results you get, the more fluid you will find it to be.

As for your second question, the answer is maybe - you should make sure any pages you completely remove redirect to your homepage, and that the text stays similar, etc. Basically, you do not want Google to think the site has been removed, or that it is a completely new site, unrelated to the old one.

Hope that makes sense. Cheers. :)

    hey thanks for the quickie.

My site is just a blog updated daily, the content will stay, just the HTML markup will be changed :p so I guess I should be okay.

And thanks for the answers. How can i make sure i can maintain my SERP?

Yes, you should be Ok then.

To maintain your high ranking in the SERPs, just make sure you are constantly following the same SEO practices you always have been - SEO is an ongoing thing (but I am sure you already know this).

I bounce around all the time. It's just something Google enjoys doing. I personally hate it, but I am peanuts to Google so no sense in complaining.

i have also a blog that has been in First Page for a month then it went missing just an instant.. but then it went back for a month later... its probably google is penalizing my site.. i think it did the same thing to your site.

Changing your site template won't affect your rankings unless you change some content or title on your site.

That's not true. Changing your template can affect SERPS. It changes the positioning of your text (as the bot sees it) and it also affects the code to text ratio.

    How old is your blog?

If your blog is new, then the reason for your number 1spot in search results was that google place new sites and new pages high up in the search results for few days because google love new content and its called the new content boost.
