my site is an seo company..
and i target the search term "Professional SEO Company"..
when i search it to Google yesterday morning it was on number 11..
and when i check it again in the afternoon.. i was surprised..
    because it ranks number 2..
when i check it after an hour.. it was on number 10 position..

is this normal? please send replies..
but at least I'm glad it ranks number two..

I think he is talking about a single date center... Still it is normal as results vary all the time.
Yesterday I just went for a great, recent key phrase from 4th to 16th position, but in my case there could be some penalty as I've carried myself away with the quantity of links last 2 weeks...
Anyway, check your positions on the different DC, and if you are still close to the 2nd place on other, you are likely to stay there longer :)

It is quite normal to go up and down the results a bit. Hopefully you'll end up at #2.

You could the google webmaster account to track your keywords as opposed to manually searching, this will provide your average position for each searched keyword from your site and make life easier :)
