Is this long tail?

    Hello,

I registered www.whoisthepresidentof.com and built a small site listing all the current Presidents of the world.

My Keywords will be "who is the President of" "who is the President of America". and a few other with "who is the President of ***".

Are these long tail or does Google consider "who" "is" "the" and "of" as stop words and ignore them leaving me with "President" as my keyword?

Google keyword shows "low" competition for this phrase but my WEB CEo shows billions!!!!!!

As long as you found the keyword with exact match instead or broad it is a long tail keyword.

I would agree with your thoguhts that this is long tail, i would imagine that terms such as American Presidents, and much more generic terms such as Famous presidents would have much higher competition.

But you should also think abotu how people search, now days people are more likely to type a longer tail query in as it means their search is more refined.

I often find though that by going after the main shorter keywords the longtail follow of their own accord, where as i doubt this would work the other way around.

Here's more on it. I wouldn't consider it longtail above.

    It would be more like:
    www.whoisthepresidentof.com/presidential-speeches-at-whitehouse.htm
    Code (markup):
It's where it narrows down the chance of finding your page based upon a specific search.

Someone does a search for presidential speeches at white house, they may pull up this page.

    See

    Hi,

Thanks for your replies. That's a good article. I'm basically trying to capture all searches beginning with "Who is the President of ***?"

    So,
If my subpage going in to detail about the President of America was "www.whoisthepresidentof.com/America.htm" it should help?

Have you looked at search popularity of those terms?

What you suggest would be good, I think. Especially as you add content.

Will it be worth it though if there aren't many searches?

---You could do without the 'of', IMHO.

    Yes,

It's moderate, the site is more for fun than anything. Who is the President of France? 1,600 exact searches p/m.

I have www.whoisthepresident.net as .com was gone.

I say 'have fun' with it!

I made a Squidoo lens on election information that did quite well just before our most recent presidential election. Maybe you could provide helpful election info too.

Google Maps, where and when to vote, etc
