Is this load balancing?

I came across this strange URL and was wondering if it has to do with load balancing.

http://h71028.www7.hp.com/enterprise/cache/6606-0-0-225-121.html

If not, why would those multiple prefixes (h71028.www7.) be used?

 

It could have to do with load balancing since it is pointing at a different server. Couldn't say for sure though, could just be something for HP.

Ping it, it shows a different IP address. Open up the command prompt and type in one of the following.

ping h71028.www7.hp.com
ping www.hp.com

If it was the same IP address it would be on the same server, just pointed at a different folder. i.e. www7.hp.com = www . hp . com/somefolder/
